About
Kokushibo is Upper Moon One — the strongest of the Twelve Kizuki and the Corps' oldest nightmare. Four centuries ago he was Michikatsu Tsugikuni, a swordsman of extraordinary talent who forged his own Moon Breathing, yet he lived forever in the shadow of his twin brother Yoriichi, a natural-born genius he could never surpass. Terrified of dying as an also-ran and poisoned by envy, he accepted Muzan's blood, abandoned his family and his humanity, and rose again as a demon — keeping his memories, his swordsmanship, and his face, now crowned with six eyes.
As Upper Moon One he has outlived every rival, butchering generations of Hashira while serving as Muzan's most trusted and disciplined blade. Unlike the feral demons beneath him, Kokushibo never let go of a swordsman's discipline: he still trains, still refines his technique, still honors the blade he once carried as a man. It is this perfect fusion of Breathing and demon flesh that makes him nearly invincible — and it is the memory of the brother he envied, returning in his final moments, that finally breaks him.
Abilities
Moon Breathing
The style he created himself, derived from the original Sun Breathing. Fourteen unpredictable forms hurl crescent-shaped slashes that twist and layer across the battlefield, leaving no safe angle from which to approach.
Flesh Nichirin Blade
His sword is grown from his own body — a living blade that regenerates in an instant, shifts shape mid-duel, and erupts with jagged spines and fanged mouths to punish anyone who closes the distance.
Blood Demon Art: Crescent Blades
Woven into every Moon Breathing form, his Blood Demon Art fills each swing with swirling crescents and projectiles that shift size and speed unpredictably, turning even a parried strike into a lethal flurry.
Six Eyes
His extraordinary eyes read muscle, breath and intent, letting him perceive the Transparent World and predict attacks before they land — the same gift that made his twin brother a legend.
Immense Speed & Precision
Four centuries of endless duels have made him the fastest blade among the Upper Moons: he moves quicker than marked Hashira can follow and cuts through their combined assault with surgical precision.
Demonic Regeneration
Severed limbs, a bisected torso, a shattered head — his flesh reknits in seconds, and he even regrows his blade from his own body. Only when his own heart wavered did his flesh finally refuse to heal.
Notable battles
Kokushibo's legend is written in the blood of Hashira: he barely survived his duel with his brother Yoriichi in the Sengoku era and carried the shame of that defeat for centuries; he cut down countless Pillars across four hundred years without ever losing his rank; and in the Infinity Castle's final night he destroyed the Mist Hashira and a demon-eyed gunslinger while holding a marked Wind Hashira and the Stone Hashira at bay — until his own body betrayed him, crumbling at the memory of the brother he envied.
