About
Kanao Tsuyuri is the quiet, soft-spoken Tsuguko of the Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho and one of the most naturally gifted swordswomen the Demon Slayer Corps has ever trained. Born into a poverty-stricken and abusive household, she was sold into slavery as a child and survived by shutting her heart away entirely — feeling nothing, wanting nothing, and simply obeying whatever she was told, because a life where nothing could be chosen was easier to endure.
Everything changed when the Kocho sisters found her: Kanae and Shinobu bought her freedom, adopted her, and raised her at the Butterfly Mansion, where a coin from Kanae helped her make the choices she could not make alone. Trained to near-Hashira level, she mastered Flower Breathing and sharpened her extraordinary eyesight into a weapon that reads an opponent's tiniest movements before they happen. In the Infinity Castle she fought Upper Rank Two, Doma, alongside Inosuke Hashibira to avenge Kanae, and in the final battle against Muzan she pushed her eyes past their limits to protect her comrades — and in the years that followed she finally found the family and quiet happiness she had always been denied.

Flower Breathing
A graceful style derived from Water Breathing and refined under the Kocho sisters. Forms such as Crimson Hanagoromo and Whirling Peach blend elegant footwork with lethal, precise strikes.
Superhuman Eyesight
Kanao's greatest gift. Her dynamic vision reads an opponent's muscles, breathing, and micro-expressions, letting her predict attacks before they are even launched.
Equinoctial Vermilion Eye
The Final Form of her eyesight. By pouring all her strength into her eyes, the world appears to slow to a crawl — at the cost of burst blood vessels and temporary blindness afterwards.
Master Swordsmanship
Trained directly beneath a Hashira, she is considered close to their level herself. Her economy of movement means no swing is wasted and no opening is ever missed.
Immense Speed & Agility
Light-footed and evasive, she weaves through attacks most swordsmen never see coming, and once overwhelmed three fellow trainees at the same time in recovery training.
Total Concentration Breathing
Like the Hashira, she maintains Constant Breathing around the clock, raising her stamina, resilience, and recovery far beyond those of an ordinary Demon Slayer.
Notable battles
Kanao's defining moments came during the Corps' functional recovery training, where she overwhelmed three fellow trainees at once in the stampede game, and above all in the Infinity Castle, where she faced Upper Rank Two, Doma, alongside Inosuke to avenge the fallen Kanae Kocho. In the final clash against Muzan Kibutsuji she unleashed the Equinoctial Vermilion Eye to track the Demon King's blistering movements for her comrades, paying a heavy price in her eyesight. Through every battle she carried the will of the sisters who saved her — and she emerged from the war alive, whole, and finally free to feel. In the years that followed, she married Tanjiro Kamado and built the peaceful family life she had always been denied.
