Gyokko

Upper Moon Five — a vase-obsessed artist of death who slips between pots and sculpts slaughter into what he calls beauty

About

Gyokko is Upper Moon Five of the Twelve Kizuki, a demon whose entire existence revolves around vases and a twisted sense of beauty. Born as a strange, solitary boy named Managi, he adored the sea and the pots that carried its water, and nothing marked him more than the day his parents drowned at sea and their bodies washed ashore before his eyes. Where others saw horror, the boy saw something fascinating — and that poisoned view of the world followed him into his life as a potter, whose beautiful vessels concealed a growing collection of the dead.

Reborn by Muzan's blood, he rose to Upper Moon Five as the artist of the Twelve Kizuki, impaling victims and arranging their bodies into what he solemnly calls his works, forever starving for a single word of praise from his master. His Blood Demon Art: Pottery turns humble clay into a battlefield — vases sprout from walls and floors like flowers, disgorging flesh fish and paralyzing water, while Gyokko himself sinks into one pot and surfaces from another as if stepping through doors. Sent to the Swordsmith Village to shatter the slayers' weapon supply, he treated the massacre like the opening of a gallery, never suspecting that the young Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito would awaken a mark, turn the mist against him, and reduce the artist to another broken exhibit.

Abilities

Blood Demon Art: Pottery

Gyokko's Blood Demon Art lets him create and command vases at will. Pots erupt from walls, floors, and even the bodies of the dead, each one a living vessel that turns any battlefield into his personal kiln.

Vase Teleportation

By sinking into one vase and surfacing from another anywhere he has planted one, Gyokko attacks from impossible angles and retreats before a blade can answer. His enemies fight a demon who is everywhere and nowhere at once.

Flesh Fish & Paralytic Water

His pots disgorge monstrous fish grown from his own flesh, and the water they swim in carries a numbing poison. A single hit drains strength and locks the body still — a trap that nearly ended a Hashira before the fight even began.

The Porcelain Transformation

Pushed to his limit, Gyokko sheds his humanoid shape for a towering true form of gleaming porcelain, its arms fused into blades. The hardened body shrugs off cuts that would kill any lesser demon and moves with startling speed.

Upper Rank Regeneration

Like every Upper Moon, Gyokko heals grievous wounds in moments, sealing holes through his body and reattaching what is severed. Only a clean beheading from a marked slayer could end him for good.

Cruel Aesthetics

Gyokko fights the way he sculpts: with theatrical cruelty. He impales victims and poses them as exhibits, toys with foes he deems ugly, and hungers for Muzan's praise — a vanity that makes him predictable to a focused opponent.

Notable battles

Gyokko's defining battle came in the Swordsmith Village, where he surfaced from pots across the mountain, slaughtered the swordsmiths, and impaled their bodies as exhibits — even hunting the master smith Hotaru Haganezuka, who refused to stop grinding a blade as the demon tore his shelter apart. The Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito took him on and was poisoned and sealed inside a vase for his trouble, until a mark bloomed on the young swordsman's face and his Obscuring Clouds form wrapped the battlefield in blinding mist. The porcelain true form bought Gyokko only seconds more before the Hashira's blade took his head, while across the village Tanjiro Kamado and his allies fought and felled their own Upper Moon in the same night.
