About
Rui was born a frail human boy whose body could barely walk or breathe without rest, loved deeply by the parents who kept vigil over his sickroom for years. Muzan Kibutsuji came to him one night offering strength, and the boy accepted — only to find that demon flesh demands human lives. When his parents discovered the corpse their son had left and moved to end the nightmare themselves, Rui killed them both, telling himself these were never his real family. Only as his mother lay dying, apologizing for the weak body she could not give him, did he finally understand how much they had loved him.
Muzan's counsel was to build a better family, and Rui obeyed with a fanatic's devotion. Raised to Lower Moon Five — the rank carved into his left eye — and gifted a share of the King of Demons' blood far beyond his station, he gathered captured demons into a Mother, a Father, an Elder Brother, and an Elder Sister, binding them with his blood and reshaping their bodies with his cells. On Mount Natagumo his web swallowed the whole mountainside, and his false household performed harmony under threat of the burning dawn. It was a perfect stage play of a family, staged by a child who had forgotten what love actually looked like.
Abilities
Blood Demon Art: Steel Threads
Threads spun from his own flesh, indistinguishable from spider silk until they bite. Rui's strands slice through Nichirin steel and hang grown swordsmen like insects caught in a web.
Thread Manipulation
At full strength he pumps his own blood through the threads, sharpening them further, weaving them into prisons and cages, and steering dozens of strands at once across the whole of Mount Natagumo.
Cell Manipulation
Any demon who drinks his blood can be rebuilt by his cells. He recast his "family" into the shapes he wanted — even remaking his Elder Sister's face and body in his own image.
Reinforced Flesh
His body is harder than the threads he spins; blades skid off him and he hurls swordsmen aside with a casual kick. A neck already wrapped in woven thread is the reason one legendary slash failed to finish him.
A Share of Muzan's Blood
An unusually large dose of the King of Demons' blood for a Lower Rank, granting power veterans whispered was closer to Lower Two or One — and regeneration that closes fresh cuts within seconds.
Family Tyranny
He rules his false household through terror: demons bound by his blood, disciplined by his threads, and threatened with the burning light of dawn if they ever step out of the roles he wrote for them.
Notable battles
Rui's web turned Mount Natagumo into a harvest ground, its Demon Slayers strung up in cocoons for his false family to feed on. When a young swordsman and the demon girl who shielded him broke through the silk, Rui offered them a place in his household — and when she refused, he moved to take her anyway, insisting that a family which disobeys was never really a family at all. The swordsman answered with the Dance of the Fire God, flame-wreathed breathing cutting threads that had snapped Nichirin steel, and though Rui's thread-reinforced neck survived the first beheading, the Water Hashira's Eleventh Form: Dead Calm passed clean through the storm of wires and took his head in a single stroke. Dying, he finally saw his real parents standing before him, apologizing for the body they could not give him and welcoming him home at last — a vision of the love his Spider Family never could fake, and the moment Tanjiro Kamado's fire showed the Twelve Kizuki what the Sun Breathing truly was.
