About
Morel Mackernasey is a single-star Sea Hunter, an elite Manipulator, and the de-facto commander of the strike team Chairman Netero assembles to dismantle the Chimera Ant threat. With his calm voice, slow pipe-smoking, and the giant珊瑚-shaped diving pipe he carries everywhere, he looks more like a weathered sea captain than a war leader — yet under pressure he is one of the most clear-headed tacticians the Hunter Association has. He refuses orders he finds immoral, mentors younger Hunters with patient honesty, and trusts his team to grow rather than shielding them from every danger.
During the Palace Invasion, Morel holds the most dangerous post: the central stairwell, where he alone must stall the strongest Royal Guard, Menthuthuyoupi, long enough for Knuckle to plant Hakoware on him. Even when his smoke soldiers fall one after another, even when Youpi's rage erupts into a monster on his back, Morel refuses to retreat. The longer he holds, the more the Royal Guard changes — and in the end it is Morel's stubbornness that lets the rest of the team survive the night.
Abilities
Deep Purple
His signature Manipulation ability: he exhales smoke through his pipe and shapes it into a small army of smoke soldiers he controls from afar.
Smoky Jail
A massive prison of dense smoke that cannot be broken by physical force — useful for trapping, dividing, and stalling much stronger opponents.
Koh Cutter
Compresses his smoke into a razor-sharp blade for surprise attacks, blinding slashes, and as a hidden weapon at close range.
Smoke Clones
He can disguise his smoke soldiers as allies or enemies, misdirecting Royal Guards and buying seconds that often decide entire battles.
Notable battles
Morel's defining clash is his duel against Menthuthuyoupi in the central stairwell of the East Tower of the Royal Palace. With his smoke soldiers whittled away one by one, Morel takes blow after blow to keep Youpi pinned in place while Knuckle tags him with Hakoware. He also fights alongside Knov, Shoot, and Knuckle through the earlier Chimera Ant campaign, mentors them through the worst nights of the arc, and earns even Youpi's quiet respect before the Royal Guard walks away from the fight they could no longer win.
