About
Knuckle Bine is a Beast Hunter recruited by Morel for the Chimera Ant strike team. Loud, brash, and prone to shouting his feelings at the top of his lungs, he looks like a street thug and fights like one — yet underneath that rough exterior lives one of the most compassionate Hunters in the entire series. He takes in stray dogs, cries openly when people he loves are hurt, and refuses to leave his best friend Shoot behind even when the smart move would be to run. He is, in his own words, a person who cannot look away from someone in trouble.
During the Palace Invasion, Knuckle's role is the most delicate of the entire team: he must land a single hit of Hakoware on Menthuthuyoupi — the strongest of the Royal Guards — and then survive long enough for the interest to bankrupt the beast. He succeeds in tagging Youpi almost immediately, but the Royal Guard is too strong to simply wait out, and the fight becomes a long, grinding war of attrition that pushes Knuckle to the edge of his life.
Abilities
Hakoware
A loan-shark Nen ability: a small mascot called APR attaches to the target and lends them aura, then charges interest every ten seconds until the debt exceeds their total aura.
APR — Bankruptcy
When the loan exceeds the target's aura, APR forces them into Zetsu for 30 days, completely stripping them of their Nen — Knuckle's instant-win condition.
IRS
An emergency weaponized form of Hakoware that lets Knuckle forcibly seize aura from a target whose debt is unpaid, used to disable enemies without killing them.
Beast Taming
As a Beast Hunter, Knuckle has spent years caring for and training animals, and his keen eye for creature behavior shapes how he reads both allies and opponents.
Notable battles
Knuckle's defining clash is his duel against Menthuthuyoupi during the Palace Invasion. He tags the Royal Guard with APR almost immediately — yet Youpi is so overwhelmingly strong that the loan's growth is dwarfed by his aura reserves, and the fight stretches into a brutal, hour-long stalemate. Knuckle also fights Gon in a one-on-one match before the Invasion to test the boy's readiness, and joins Shoot and Morel in the earlier Chimera Ant sweep operations. Through every fight, his defining trait stays the same: he cannot bring himself to abandon someone in front of him, even when retreating would save his own life.
