About
Zeno Zoldyck is the retired patriarch of the Zoldyck assassin family and the grandfather of Killua, Illumi, Milluki, Kalluto, and Alluka. Across decades of contracts he built the family's reputation into what it is today: a name spoken only in whispers by the world's most powerful underworld figures. He is old now, his hair gone white and his back slightly bent, but his eyes still carry the weight of every life he has ever taken — and the certainty that he would take them all again without a second thought.
Though officially retired, Zeno still accepts the rare contract that interests him — usually because the target is dangerous enough to be worth his time. He works almost exclusively alongside his son Silva, the two of them forming the legendary father-son duo that the underworld fears above all others. Their movements in battle are so perfectly synchronized that they need no words; Zeno softens, Silva strikes, and the contract is closed.
Despite his profession, Zeno carries himself with a strange, almost grandfatherly calm. He is courteous to his opponents, willing to compliment their technique even as he plans to end them, and he treats the rules of his trade as sacred. When he clashed with Chairman Netero during the Chimera Ant arc, the two old warriors shared a moment of mutual respect — a quiet acknowledgment that the era they belonged to was almost over, and that they were the last of their kind.
Abilities
Emission Nen
His natural Nen category, allowing him to detach aura from his body and project it over long distances with devastating precision.
Dragon Dive
Summons a massive Nen dragon in the sky that releases countless needle-like aura projectiles, raining destruction over an entire area — used to soften the palace before the Chimera Ant invasion.
Dragon Lance
Forms a long, piercing aura dragon from his hand to stab distant targets, the offensive companion to his Dragon Dive.
Decades of Experience
Lifetime of contracts has honed his instincts to near-perfection — he reads opponents, predicts movements, and closes gaps before his target realizes the fight has already started.
Notable battles
Zeno's most famous operation is the assault on the Ten Dons of the Yorknew underworld, where he and Silva cornered Chrollo Lucilfer inside a sealed building — a battle that ended only when the contract was annulled mid-strike, and that left even the Phantom Troupe leader shaken. He later joined the Chimera Ant invasion, using Dragon Dive to shatter the royal palace's defenses before confronting Pitou alongside Netero. In his prime he fought countless unnamed contracts that never reached the light of history, each one a small, silent thread in the web of fear that the Zoldyck name is woven from.
