About
Shalnark is one of the original members of the Phantom Troupe, holding the number six among the spiders. Born in Meteor City alongside the rest of the founding Troupe, he hides a cold, analytical mind behind a friendly, almost boyish smile. He is the Troupe's go-to intelligence gatherer and digital specialist — the one who hacks the databases, traces the phone calls, and pieces together the picture when the rest of the spiders are still sharpening their blades. His cheerful demeanor in the field is genuine, and that is exactly what makes him so unsettling: he will type out a kill order on his phone with the same casual tone he uses to recommend a restaurant.
Abilities
Black Voice
His signature Manipulation ability: a small antenna phone that lets him implant commands in a target once the antenna is attached, turning them into a remote- controlled puppet he can direct at will.
Autopilot Mode
A dangerous self-manipulation — he places the antenna on himself and gives his body autonomous combat orders, gaining huge physical boosts in exchange for losing conscious control.
Surveillance Mode
A specialized antenna that lets him track targets over distance, feeding location and movement data back to the Troupe during operations.
Manipulation Nen
His natural Nen category shapes his aura around control and command, with a grounding in technology and information that makes him one of the Troupe's most versatile members.
Notable battles
Shalnark's defining confrontations come during the Troupe's incursion into NGL and Meteor City in the Chimera Ant arc, where his Black Voice proves lethal against the ant armies — only for the hunt to end against Hisoka, who ambushes and kills him while his abilities are unavailable. Earlier, in Yorknew City, his intelligence work is what allows the Troupe to locate and isolate targets across the city, making him the silent backbone of the entire auction operation.
