Mei Terumi is the Fifth Mizukage of Kirigakure, the Hidden Mist Village, and the only shinobi in recorded history to possess two distinct Kekkei Genkai simultaneously — the Lava Release (combining fire and earth natures) and the Boil Release (combining fire and water natures). She inherited leadership of a village that had earned the nightmare nickname of the Bloody Mist under the previous Mizukage Yagura, who had been secretly controlled by Obito Uchiha and turned Kirigakure's graduation exams into bloodbaths where students were forced to kill their closest friends. Mei took the seat after Yagura's death and devoted her term to dismantling that bloody legacy, reforming the village's policies, and rebuilding Kirigakure's standing among the Five Great Shinobi Villages. Fiercely protective of her village, sharp-tongued about romance, and unflinching on the battlefield, she represented the Mist at the Five Kage Summit, joined the Allied Shinobi Forces as one of its five Kage commanders, and fought Madara Uchiha himself alongside her peers in the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Lava Release: Melting Apparition
Her signature Lava Release jutsu — spews a thick river of molten lava from her mouth that instantly melts through almost any defense, including Susanoo ribcages, and continues to burn the ground for minutes after the attack.
Boil Release: Skilled Mist
Her Boil Release technique — exhales a corrosive acidic mist that dissolves anything it touches, including Susanoo bones, while she remains completely unharmed by tuning her own body's resistance.
Water Release Mastery
As a Kage of the Mist Village, she commands Water Release at a level few shinobi can match — summoning vast water dragon and wall techniques that rival even the Second Hokage's mastery.
Earth & Fire Release
The two base natures underlying both her Kekkei Genkai — her mastery of these elements allows her to combine them in real-time combat into either Lava or Boil Release as the situation demands.
Notable battles
Mei's defining fights span the entire Five Kage Summit arc and the Fourth Great Ninja War. At the Summit she personally engaged Sasuke Uchiha, melting through his Susanoo ribcage with her acidic Boil Release mist — the only Kage to actually breach the legendary defense — and nearly killing him before he was teleported to safety by Obito. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, she stood with the other four Kage against the reanimated Madara Uchiha, where her Lava Release was the only technique the Perfect Susanoo clones actually had to dodge. After the five Kage were defeated and Tsunade was bisected, Mei returned to the battlefield alongside her peers, and in the war's final phase helped the Allied Forces against the Ten-Tails and the Infinite Tsukuyomi — the village of the Bloody Mist finally fighting on the side of the world it had once terrorized.
