About
Shaiapouf is the most intellectual of the three Royal Guards, and also the most tortured. With the appearance of a graceful butterfly and the manners of an aristocrat, he plays the violin to soothe, deceive, and manipulate those around him. Beneath that elegance lives a quiet terror: a desperate, possessive need for the King Meruem to remain the cold, untouchable figure he was at birth — and an inability to accept that the King is changing into something gentler and more human.
When Meruem loses his memory after the Rose and grows closer to Komugi, Pouf is the one who suffers most. He conspires in secret to keep the King away from the girl, lies to Meruem about the past, and slowly poisons himself with his own grief. In the end, he gives his life and his Nen to the reborn King in a final act of devotion — and dies not long after, willingly, of the same poison that took his King.
Abilities
Spiritual Message
Scales from his wings read the emotional state of anyone they touch, letting him detect lies, fear, and resolve with perfect precision.
Bee Serenade
Plays his violin to release microscopic Nen scales that control the emotions of anyone who breathes them in — calming crowds or driving them into despair.
Cocoon
Wraps a target in a chrysalis to forcibly transform them, used by Pouf to reshape other Chimera Ants at his will.
Body Division
Splits his body into countless tiny butterfly clones for surveillance, escape, and deception — the trick he uses to keep Komugi hidden from the King.
Notable battles
Shaiapouf rarely fights for survival — he fights to keep his King pure. During the Palace Invasion, he splits from the King to hunt Komugi and remove her from Meruem's path, an act he never fully succeeds in. His most significant clashes come against Morel and Knov, where he matches wits and Nen rather than raw power. After the Rose, he and Menthuthuyoupi give their bodies and abilities to the reborn Meruem — Pouf's final gift to a King he could no longer understand, but would never abandon.
