About
Neji Hyuga was a shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village and a true genius of the Hyuga clan — but born into the Branch House, branded with the Caged Bird Seal that bound him to serve and protect the Main House. Bitter about his fate as a child, he believed everyone's destiny was decided at birth, until Naruto beat that philosophy out of him in the Chunin Exams. He chose to walk his own path, was promoted to jonin before any of his peers, and in the Fourth Great Ninja War gave his life shielding Naruto and Hinata — the same two people the Main House had told him to protect, finally dying as a free man on his own terms.
Abilities
Byakugan
The Hyuga clan's all-seeing eye that grants near-360° vision, the ability to see through solid objects, and the power to perceive the chakra network and tenketsu points inside a living body.
Gentle Fist
A unique taijutsu style that injects chakra directly into the opponent's body to damage internal organs and shut down their chakra flow, often with no visible wound on the surface.
Eight Trigrams 64 Palms
Strikes sixty-four of the body's 361 tenketsu points in a flowing pattern at blinding speed, completely halting an opponent's ability to use chakra.
Palms Revolving Heaven
Releases chakra from every tenketsu in his body and spins at high speed, creating a perfect defensive dome that repels virtually any physical or ninjutsu attack.
Notable battles
Neji's fight against Naruto in the Chunin Exams finals remains one of the series' most defining duels — a genius who believed in fate brought low by an underdog who refused to accept it. Earlier in the same arc, his brutal match against his cousin Hinata forced the Hyuga clan's dark truths into the open. During the Sasuke Retrieval Arc he single-handedly defeated Kidomaru of the Sound Four in a strategic masterpiece of a fight, and in the Fourth Great Ninja War he faced the Ten-Tails' wooden spikes — choosing to take the fatal blow meant for Naruto and Hinata, his final act proving he had chosen his own destiny.
