About
Kurapika is the last surviving member of the Kurta clan, a peaceful people whose eyes would turn a brilliant scarlet in moments of intense emotion. When the Phantom Troupe massacred his entire clan to steal their Scarlet Eyes and sell them on the black market, Kurapika devoted his life to a single goal: recovering every stolen eye and destroying the Troupe responsible for the slaughter.
To pursue that goal, he became a Hunter, joined the Nostrade Family as a bodyguard to gain access to the underworld's networks, and later accepted a seat among the Zodiacs to monitor the Prince succession contest on the Black Whale. Behind his calm and intellectual demeanor lives a grief that never truly healed — and a willingness to sacrifice his own life, his lifespan, and his soul to finish what he started.

Emperor Time
When his eyes turn scarlet, he can use every Nen category at maximum efficiency instead of only Conjuration — at the cost of shortening his lifespan with each use.
Chain Jail
A conjured chain that restrains targets and strips them of Nen use. Bound by a strict Limitation: it can only be used against Phantom Troupe members.
Judgement Chain
A blade-tipped chain that pierces the target's heart and enforces a rule; if they break it, the chain crushes their heart instantly.
Dowsing Chain
A versatile chain used for healing, defense, lie detection, and as his everyday weapon — the only chain not bound by Limitations.
Notable battles
Kurapika's most defining clash is his duel against Uvogin, the strongest physically of the Phantom Troupe, whom he captured and ultimately killed after a relentless interrogation. His confrontations with Chrollo Lucilfer, Pakunoda, and the other Spiders are tense games of intelligence rather than raw power. Later, during the Black Whale succession contest, his battle against Prince Tserriednich and the guardians of the other princes pushes his Limitations and his mind to their absolute limits.
