About
Itachi Uchiha was the eldest son of the Uchiha clan's leader and the greatest prodigy the clan had ever produced — graduating the Academy at the top of his class in a single year, mastering the Sharingan at eight, becoming a Chunin at ten, an ANBU squad captain at thirteen. Behind that brilliance, however, was a boy who had seen the Third Great Ninja War at age four and decided peace was worth any personal sacrifice. When the Uchiha clan's planned coup threatened to drag Konoha into civil war, the village elders gave him an impossible choice: slaughter his entire family, or let war consume everyone he loved. He chose to bear the sin alone, massacring his parents, his friends, his relatives — sparing only his younger brother Sasuke, whom he made hate him so the boy would grow strong enough to one day kill him. He joined the Akatsuki as a hated criminal, served Konoha from the shadows, and died smiling at his brother's feet, never telling him the truth.
Abilities
Tsukuyomi
His left Mangekyou Sharingan's signature jutsu — traps a victim's mind in a genjutsu world where Itachi controls space, time, and mass entirely, making seconds of torture feel like days.
Amaterasu
His right Mangekyou's jutsu — summons inextinguishable black flames that burn for seven days and nights, igniting whatever his eye focuses on, even other fire itself.
Susanoo
The third Mangekyou power — a massive chakra avatar wielding the Totsuka Blade that seals anything it cuts into a dream-like drunken stupor, and the Yata Mirror that reflects any attack.
Izanami
The forbidden Uchiha jutsu used to defeat Kabuto — a loop of shared sensation that traps the victim until they accept who they truly are, costing the casting eye its light forever.
Notable battles
Itachi's most defining moments all involve Sasuke. The night of the Uchiha Massacre he broke his own heart to spare his brother's life, then psychologically scarred Sasuke with Tsukuyomi to ensure the boy would one day grow strong enough to kill him. Years later he Crucified Kakashi in 72 hours of genjutsu in a single glance during the Search for Tsunade arc. His climactic duel with Sasuke — staged to look like a fight to the death — was in fact Itachi's final gift: he died on his feet, sealed Orochimaru with the Totsuka Blade, freed Sasuke of the curse mark, and poked his brother's forehead one last time. Reanimated during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he broke free of Edo Tensei using the Kotoamatsukami he had planted inside Naruto, teamed up with Sasuke to defeat Kabuto with Izanami, and finally dissolved into the afterlife — finally at peace with the brother he had loved in silence his entire life.
